The ACI Foundation’s Request for Proposal on Behalf of ACI’s Innovation Task Group 93-12

The ACI Foundation is administering a request for proposal on behalf of ACI’s Innovation Task Group 93-12 - Code Requirements for Construction of Additively Constructed Walls (ITG-12). ACI has formed Innovation Task Group 93‐12 ITG‐12 (ITG‐12) to develop code requirements, design, and prescriptive provisions for additively constructed above‐grade concrete walls for residential structures for incorporation into ACI 332 and the International Residential Code (IRC).

There are currently no published code requirements for the public sector on the design and construction of mortar-based or concrete structural components produced using additive construction (i.e., 3D printing). The mission of ITG-12 is to expedite the development of minimum Code Requirements for Additively Constructed Concrete Walls for Residential Structures for incorporation into ACI 332 Residential Concrete Work.

The ITG‐12 task group is seeking proposals from qualified firms to create design and prescriptive code provisions that current building codes will adopt to meet design requirements for strength, serviceability, and durability requirements.

The ACI Foundation’s Concrete Innovation Council (CIC) will manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The awardee will be required to execute a contract with the ACI Foundation that details milestone deliverables tied to payments. Terms will be established based on the project timeline.

The RFP is currently open and will close on March 5, 2024. For additional information and submission requirements visit acifoundation.org/technology or contact Tricia G. Ladely, Assistant Director, ACI Foundation, at Tricia.Ladely@acifoundation.org or +1.724.601.3075.
