ACI Foundation Announces Ann Daugherty as New Director

Farmington Hills, Mich. (August 15, 2013) -The ACI Foundation, a wholly-owned and non-profit subsidiary of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) that receives, administers, and expends funds for educational, research, and scientific purposes, announces the addition of its new director, Ann Daugherty.

Ann Daugherty will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ACI Foundation and its programs. Ann will also serve as the manager of programs for Foundation’s Strategic Development Council (SDC) and as the liaison for a number of SDC Accelerated Technology Implementation teams, the Technology Management Committee, and the Technology Transfer Advisory Group. Additionally, as liaison to the Concrete Research Council, she will work with the Foundation and research partners to launch the all-new Concrete Research Network, an online portal that will connect researchers, funders and users of concrete research needs.

Daugherty most recently served as the Manager of the Petrography Group at CTLGroup in Skokie, IL, where she managed an annual budget, and coordinated large scale and long-term projects within and among its technical groups. She is a member of ASTM Committee C09, Concrete and Aggregates, and Subcommittee C09.20, Normal Weight Aggregates. She serves as Secretary to Subcommittee C09.65, Petrography. She is also a member of the ACI Illinois Chapter and the Illinois Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s Technical Committee.

“I am very pleased that Ann has joined the ACI Foundation as its Director where she will leverage her technical knowledge and extensive industry contacts to accelerate our educational, research, and scientific programs,” said Ronald G. Burg, P.E., president, ACI Foundation. “Her background in participating in industry research projects will be particularly helpful as the Foundation energizes and expands the Concrete Research Council and launches the Concrete Research Network. Further, Ann's understanding of the industry's need to identify and embrace new technology and its desire to attract the best and brightest students will position the Foundation’s Strategic Development Council and Scholarship Council to have the greatest impact on the future of concrete design and construction.”
