Based on industry requests, ACI Committee 302, ASCC, ASCC Foundation, and ACI Foundation are collecting interior non-air entrained concrete floor slab mixes that have performed well. The slab mix study needs Type I/II for baseline data and IL mixes for comparison. Once a substantial quantity of newer IL cement mixes and existing or historic I/II or II/V cement-based mixes are collected, then an artificial intelligence (AI) platform, Giatec's Roxi™, will look for strong and weak correlations between the I/II and IL mixes that are performing well.
Industry experts will validate the AI correlations and guidelines will be created. The guidelines will list a variety of modifications to the IL mixes that may help the properties and performance, from the most to least likely. The guidelines are meant to shorten the learning curve for markets to transition to successful IL mixes, and provide talking points to collaborate on optimizing mixes for projects.
Please send the mix designs to mixes@ascconline.org and include mixture proportions, mill certificates, aggregate gradations, and admixture type – essentially a project submittal package. Raw data will be kept confidential and only aggregated data will be shared.
If you submit a IL mix you will also be asked to fill out a survey of up to six (6) questions on its performance using this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/N2DSSDJ
